Midnight Circus
As you and your friends are out exploring in the forest one night you stumble upon an old circus ground. Though it appears abandoned at first, you soon realize that things are coming back to life. An evil ringmaster controls these grounds, and you soon realize that your souls may too forever join the circus if you don't put it back to sleep. Will you be able to escape with your lives, or will you spend the rest of eternity in the Midnight Circus? Midnight Circus is the magical halloween escape room brought to you by Escape SC!
My Role: I was in charge of creating the tactile “Lion’s Maw” puzzle as a part of the design team for this room. I worked with Charlie Rez to perfect the code within the puzzle and converted the lion mask into an inviting cavern for players to reach into. I also assisted Harrison Roberts in the creation of the sequin puzzle. During multiple sessions I acted as the Ringmaster that was inside the room while players tried to escape. This involved activating parts of the room and relaying hints and other information all while staying in character.
Midnight Circus is an escape room designed for one to six players. Players will move through the room, visiting each area attempting to unlock chests and find secrets! This is a non-linear room, unlike many other escape rooms, so players are able to split up and search for clues or move on from a puzzle if they are stumped. The room also features a live ringmaster that plays a pivotal part in the story of the room, while also acting as the hint giver. Midnight Circus ran from Oct. 31st - Nov. 10th 2019.
